WATCH: Influential figures including Chris Skidmore MP, Farhana Yamin, Solitaire Townsend and Green Alliance's Shaun Spiers discuss the pathway forward at the Net Zero Festival 2023

The UK's net zero agenda has faced a number of challenges in recent months, marked by government policy changes and a significant shift in rhetoric that has sought to paint the transition as a potentially costly exercise for consumers. How these challenges are handled alongside ongoing cost of living concerns, the accelerating clean tech race and the upcoming COP28 UN Climate Summit are sure to be front and centre of UK politics over the coming months in the run up to next year's General Election.

How might this all play out for the UK, and net zero, in the coming weeks and months? At the recent Net Zero Festival 2023, the audience heard from a roster of top figures including the government's net zero tsar Chris Skidmore MP, lawyer, author and activist Farhana Yamin, Green Alliance executive director Shaun Spiers, and Futerra chief solutionist Solitaire Townsend.

Their fascinating conversation can be watched back in full in the video below.
