Join us at 2pm today for a free webinar exploring the hidden benefits of sustainable buildings
BusinessGreen readers have an hour left to register for today's free live webinar exploring the hidden health and productivity benefits associated with more sustainable buildings, homes and offices.
Hosted in association with Rockwool, this exclusive interactive webinar - titled How healthy is your building, home or office? Understanding the hidden benefits of having sustainability built in - will investigate the often overlooked "soft benefits" that come from more efficient properties.
The best buildings today don't just cut energy costs, they curb noise, boost productivity, reduce water and biodiversity impacts, enable recycling, enhance safety credentials, and help inspire happier and healthier communities. This exclusive interactive BusinessGreen webinar will explore how businesses and local authorities can best ensure they are harnessing these opportunities.
Starting at 2pm and chaired by BusinessGreen editor James Murray, the hour long webinar will bring together independent experts from across the green building and property sector, offering an exclusive insight into the latest thinking on how to maximise both energy savings and wider environmental and health benefits.
The interactive session will also offer viewers the chance to quiz our panel and offer their experience of sustainable building challenges.
The webinar will include a number of presentations from leading experts:
- James Murray, editor of BusinessGreen, will provide an introduction on the latest trends in sustainable buildings, the policy context that is forcing businesses to focus on energy efficiency, and the growing evidence that more efficient buildings deliver a host of co-benefits.
- Emma Pinchbeck, head of climate change and energy at WWF, explores the multiple benefits associated with sustainable building, including both the cost and carbon savings that result from energy efficiency and onsite renewables and the raft of co-benefits that can result. The presentation will explore how environmental best practices are helping to boost health and productivity, tackle anti-social behaviour, and enhance well-being. The presentation will also look at how some of these benefits can be quantified by building managers and investors.
- Mallory Taub, wellbeing and sustainability specialist at engineering giant Arup Associates, will offer an overview of the latest trends in sustainable building and how they are being harnessed to deliver multiple benefits to occupiers. The presentation will offer a number of examples of the hidden benefits of building sustainably and the best practices required to realise them.
- Nigel Banks, group sustainability director at social housing specialist, Keepmoat, provides an insight into the increasingly important role sustainability is playing in the housing sector. The presentation will explore how innovative new projects and financing initiatives are being harnessed to tackle a wide range of fuel poverty, health, and social issues.
It is free to register to watch the webinar either live at 2pm or on catch up - all the details are available here.
