Not long left to get ensure you have a chance of being in the running for the UK's most prestigious green business awards
Could your firm become the BusinessGreen Leaders Award Company of the Year, joining the likes of IKEA, Marks and Spencer, and Telefonica UK as winner of the prestigious award? There is just one week to go, if you want to find out.
The deadline for entries for the fifth annual BusinessGreen Leaders Awards is Friday 13th March and the UK's leading green businesses, sustainability executives, entrepreneurs, and campaigners are being invited to submit their entries for this year's awards.
This year's awards will take place on July 1st at the Brewery in Central London, bringing together an audience of around 600 business leaders, politicians, and sustainability executives for a glittering celebration of the best and the brightest in the green economy.
Supported by lead sponsor AECOM, the awards will recognise a host of top green businesses and projects, including renewable energy project of the year, law firm of the year, PR firm of the year, small business of the year, and the coveted company of the year. The awards will also celebrate some of the most inspiring individuals working in the UK's green economy, through our sustainability executive of the year award, young sustainability executive award, entrepreneur of the year gong, politician of the year, and lifetime achievement award.
We are also launching two new categories to find the best green business advertising or marketing campaign of the year and the most successful employee engagement campaign of the year.
Previous winners of the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards include Sir Stuart Rose, Solarcentury's Jeremy Leggett, PwC, Diageo, Balfour Beatty, Sony, Capgemini, Green MP Caroline Lucas and Tory peer Lord Deben. Could this be the year you join them as a BusinessGreen Leader?
The theme of this year's awards is action. As environmental challenges become ever more daunting, we want to recognise those companies that are taking action to tackle those challenges, be it through cutting-edge technologies, effective engagement of colleagues and customers, or transformation of their business models.
Our distinguished panel of judges want to hear how you and your organisation are taking green action and inspiring others to follow your lead.
The entry process is relatively simple and the awards are free to enter, although we require shortlisted companies to purchase a minimum of two tickets to attend the ceremony.
The entries will be judged against the stated criteria by our expert panel of judges, which includes MPs Alan Whitehead and Laura Sandys, former BusinessGreen Leaders Awards winners, such as Julia Groves of Trillion Fund and Hanergy's Estee Chaikin, and leading experts from across the green economy, such as Aldersgate Group's Nick Molho, WRAP's Dr Liz Goodwin, Dr Nina Skorupska of the Renewable Energy Association, and Hubbub's Trewin Restorick.
As with previous years, our judging panel will be split into two groups to ensure each entry is given thorough consideration and enable any conflicts of interest with certain categories to be avoided.
Sponsored by AECOM and category sponsor The Crown Estate, the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards are the must attend event for the green business community and we will once again be joined by leaders from across the political spectrum, as well as many of the UK's top green business executives.
As well as being a celebration of the most inspiring green business projects, the awards also represent an unparalleled networking and sponsorship opportunity. For information on available sponsorship packages contact Matthew Oliver at [email protected]
