UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon gathers world leaders to progress action on tackling climate change
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will host a climate summit in September in New York with world leaders, in an effort to bolster action on climate change.
The summit comes as the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change is ramping up efforts towards securing a global deal on tackling climate change in Paris next year, that is expected to come into effect in 2020.
Mr Ban has asked leaders to bring "bold announcements and actions" to the summit with them.
