Global Reporting Initiative, Carbon Disclosure Project and SAP discuss the business value of sustainability disclosure
Many organisations today find that financial reporting alone no longer satisfies the needs of investors, governments, supply-chain partners, and other stakeholders for information about overall organisational performance. This diverse group of stakeholders is now requiring companies to become increasingly transparent with their sustainability business practices and accountable to their performance targets.
Today, 2,500 organisations around the world now measure and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and climate change strategies through CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), and over 1,400 organisations have published a GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) based sustainability report. Additionally, 95 per cent of the most sustainable companies listed on both the Corporate Knights Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations and the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI) use SAP software to help run their business.
This provides a tremendous opportunity to impact the world's leading companies as they further embed sustainability into their business strategies to unlock new opportunities through better transparency and accountability into their operations.
