Crucial UN climate change summit to kick off on November 29

Diplomats, NGOs, business leaders and media will gather in Cancun from November 29 this year for the annualConvention of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol Summit.

Delegates will attempt to finalise a draft international climate change agreement to replace or extend the Kyoto Protocol when it expires in 2012.

The main focus of discussion will be on emissions targets, climate financing and forestry protection.
