Businesses, sustainability executives, green entrepreneurs, and environmental NGOs have just a fortnight left to ensure they are in with a chance of victory at the UK's most prestigious green business awards

The UK's top green businesses, executives, entrepreneurs, and campaigners have just two weeks left to get their entries in for this year's prestigious BusinessGreen Leaders Awards.

Businesses, NGOs, and individuals now have until Monday 21st of March at 5pm to submit their entries and be in with a chance of winning one of the UK's most coveted green business awards.

The shortlist will then be announced on Monday April 11th and successful applicants will have until June 7th to confirm their attendance at the awards on July 6th, when around 600 executives from across the green economy will gather with investors and policymakers at The Brewery in the City of London for the glittering BusinessGreen Leaders Awards ceremony.

BusinessGreen is also delighted to announce that it once again the awards will be supported by headline sponsor AECOM.

This year the range of awards has been expanded to take in some of the most exciting developments in the green economy in the past 12 months.

In recognition of the growing importance of 'hard' and 'soft' infrastructure in delivering the low carbon economy we are introducing a Green Infrastructure Project of the Year and an Ecosystem Project of the Year, to recognise the exciting work underway in these increasingly important fields.

Meanwhile, with resource efficiency initiatives extending far beyond waste management projects we are introducing a Circular Economy Project of the Year to go alongside our popular Waste and Recycling Project of the Year.

The trend towards ever more sustainable manufacturing processes is also recognised with our new Manufacturer of the Year Award.

In addition, entries are once again sought for all the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards annual gongs, including our coveted Company of the Year, Leader of the Year, and Sustainability Executive of the Year awards, as well as the always competitive Renewable Energy Project of the Year and Small Business Project of the Year titles.

You can start your entries now on the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards 2016 website.

As in previous years, the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards are free to enter. However, BusinessGreen does require all shortlisted entries to purchase a minimum of two tickets to attend the glamorous black tie awards ceremony. Attendees will enjoy a networking drinks reception, three course meal, and a glittering awards ceremony, while all finalists and highly commended entries will receive a certificate to mark their achievement at the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards.

Moreover, all finalists on the evening will feature in a new report, supported by AECOM, which will provide a snapshot into the most inspiring and innovative projects, companies, and individuals working to drive progress across the green economy.

Speaking at the launch of the 2016 awards earlier this year, previous winners hailed the boost in profile that accompanied victory at the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards.

"The 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year award has raised the profile of Sustainable Bridges amongst investors, customers and the green start-up community," said Andrew Wordsworth of Sustainable Ventures. "It's great now and again to step back and reflect on what you've done - and even better when the team's achievements are recognised by the industry experts."

His comments were echoed by David Mason of Greenhouse PR. "The BusinessGreen Leaders Awards attract the most admired organisations in the green economy, so when Greenhouse was recognised as Green PR Agency of the Year it was a huge honour and endorsement of our work," he said. "The award has raised our profile, brought in new work and enabled us to create even greater impact on behalf of our clients."
