Rugby World Cup Winner Andy Gomarsall joins line up for BusinessGreen Technology Festival

Now a director at IT services and recycling specialist N2S, Andy Gomarsall, MBE, joins BusinessGreen to talk sport, sales strategies, and sustainability

BusinessGreen is delighted to announce the latest addition to next month's BusinessGreen Technology Festival: Rugby World Cup winner Andy Gomarsall, MBE.

A Rugby World Cup Winner in 2003 and finalist in 2007, Gomarsall played for seven Premiership clubs in a professional career spanning 17 years. Since retiring from the sport, he has combined stints as a commentator and work for The School of Hard Knocks charity with a role as director of his family's company, N2S.

As a telecoms and IT services supplier, N2S has emerged as one of the UK's leading IT recycling specialists and a major advocate for circular IT principles.

In addition to providing a range of IT recycling and re-use services, the company recently partnered with Coventry University on a project to harness bacteria to extract to mine valuable materials from printed circuit boards. The project has secured government funding and N2S has built a BioTech laboratory at its Suffolk facility to deploy the new refining process and "help to close the loop on the circulatory of IT and drastically reduce its carbon and environmental footprint".

As part of the BusinessGreen Technology Festival and Awards line-up on December 5th, Gomarsall will join BusinessGreen editor James Murray on stage to discuss the company's cutting edge clean tech work, how innovation is driving circular economy models, and what the world of sustainability can learn from top level sport.

Gomarsall joins a stellar speaker line-up for the inaugural BusinessGreen Technology Festival, including former npower chief executive Paul Massara, former M&S sustainability chief Mike Barry, and a series of elevator pitches from some of the UK's most exciting clean tech firms as part of the BusinessGreen Technology Challenge.

The day will culminate in the fifth annual BusinessGreen Technology Awards, which will celebrate some of the most inspiring green technology firms operating in the UK today.
