Senior figures from Energy UK, RenewableUK, BT, and Green Alliance to provide insights on how businesses will be impacted by transition to a net zero energy system
In the week the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) is set to release its long-awaited review of how the UK could transition to a net zero emission economy, BusinessGreen has confirmed an expended speaker line up for its upcoming event on the sweeping decarbonisation that will shape the energy industry in the coming decades.
Taking place on the morning of Friday June 7th at Church House in Westminster, our latest Towards Net Zero Leaders Briefing will explore the opportunities and challenges businesses face as the energy industry shift towards net zero emissions technologies and business models.
The event is free to attend for BusinessGreen Members, while non-members can secure an Early Bird rate until 5pm this Friday.
The event, which is supported by headline sponsor Centrica, will feature a keynote address from Lawrence Slade, chief executive of Energy UK, on how businesses can navigate an era of energy disruption, as well as a series of panel discussions exploring how the transition towards net zero emissions will shape commercial and investment decisions.
Representatives of BT, Aurora Energy Research, and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leaders will explore how the shift to cleaner energy systems can be accelerated.
Meanwhile, execs from Green Alliance, RenewableUK, and the Energy Networks Association will discuss how business can prepare for an energy system that will be fundamentally transformed over the next two decades.
Further speakers and case studies will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
"The opportunities and disruption that will result from the rapid transition to a net zero emission energy network will not be confined to the energy industry," said BusinessGreen editor-in-chief and event chair, James Murray. "All businesses will be impacted by emerging technologies, changing costs, and customer and investor pressure.
"Our latest Towards Net Zero Leaders Briefing provides an invaluable insight into the trends and crucial guidance on how leading firms are responding."
