Network security vendor Juniper has appointed VADition as its fifth UK distributor to help push its Advanced Technologies (ATs) into the storage channel.
The partnership will centre on the application acceleration technology Juniper inherited through its acquisitions or Redline and Perrebyt, although VADition will also have access to Juniper’s unified access control and SSL technology.
Juniper already works through Computerlinks, Sphinx, Azlan and Horizon equIP.
Andy Travers, UK and Ireland channel manager at Juniper, told CRN: “We currently have a security distribution channel but we wanted to expand outside of that and look at new partners in new areas, particularly for our acceleration products.
“VADition’s portfolio is primarily in storage, giving us the opportunity to market our WX and DX [application acceleration] products into a fresh channel.”
Ian Morris and Neil Ledger, who founded VADition last summer (CRN, 10 July, 2006) are no strangers to the Juniper channel having worked with the vendor when they were at equIP.
Ledger told CRN VADition would use the alliance to target storage and voice resellers.
“Working with Juniper’s ATs fits with our pedigree, as we have been very successful taking new and emerging technologies to market,” Ledger said.
Travers added that Juniper was particularly keen to work with resellers with skills in data centre consolidation.
