Ben Murphy, IP Group

Ben has spent the last eight years commercialising innovative clean technologies. He represents IP Group on the board of various cleantech portfolio companies, whilst also seeking new high-growth investment opportunities.

Previously, Ben has held roles in research institutes, government departments, NGOs and major corporates.

Ben's last role was in the Carbon Trust, working primarily with corporates and governments to analyse, plan and build multimillion pound low carbon innovation programmes.

Ben led international expansion programmes for the Carbon Trust and represented the organisation on the steering committee of the UK's leading energy system model, ESME.

Prior to that Ben held roles in the primary research arm of the European Commission (the Joint Research Centre - specifically in the Climate Change team), in renewable energy consulting and in Google's cleantech investment division. Ben holds a first class degree from Durham in Physics and Mathematics and an MSc in Environmental Technologies from Imperial College London.
