Carbon reporting software specialist Carbonetworks has announced it is to launch new versions of its software designed specifically for government departments, consultancies and offset project providers.
The Canada-based company provides a reporting software platform that helps firms create carbon emission reduction strategies and monitor their "carbon balance sheet".
Carbonetworks claims the suite offers functionality specifically tailored for the carbon market, including carbon calculators and graphical reporting tools, which make it a strong alternative to using spreadsheets or software designed for financial reports.
Now the company has adapted the platform to suit specific customer requirements. The company said the public sector version would allow government's to consolidate emission inventories from multiple departments on one platform and model various options for cutting their carbon footprint.
Michael Meehan, CEO of Carbonetworks, said that the new government suite would also feature customised carbon calculators, jurisdictional inventories and reporting dashboards that would give governments "a way to communicate their GHG reductions and show true leadership in carbon management"
The new government package is to be joined by a dedicated version of the platform for consultancies that Carbonetworks claims can be integrated into existing software reporting packages and allows consultants to monitor and compare the carbon performance of different customers.
Meanwhile, the new version for offset project managers will allow offset providers to track actual carbon emission savings against projected savings.
